SOCIAL INNOVATION AND RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The 6-week intensive program is intended to develop the youth into effective social innovators and responsible leaders who can build social entrepreneurial solutions based on understanding and respect for diversity, community needs, sustainability and social balance. The program provides an environment which promotes holistic learning through educational and experiential training in social innovation. The combination of classroom training, exposure visits, panel discussions with bureaucrats, social leaders and experts, group discussions and live projects serve as a launchpad for aspiring social innovators and entrepreneurs to develop an understanding of the opportunities and make a social impact.

  • 6-week intensive residential program that prepares you to dive into your social innovation journey
  • 2-week comprehensive learning through classroom training, group discussions and expert panel discussions
  • Opportunity to concentrate in one of the following electives:
    • Sustainable Agriculture
    • Water Security and Climate Change
    • Water Sanitation and Hygiene
  • 4-week long live social innovation projects in the choice of elective
  • Practical exposure to the on-ground reality through visits to communities
  • Opportunity to engage with successful social entrepreneurs, bureaucrats and subject experts
  • Distinct peers and a chance to create your network of like-minded individuals looking to make an impact

Locations Available:

  1. New Delhi – It offers the opportunity to solve issues of the urban poor communities, and understand and contribute to sustainable urban planning and development. The national capital of India also offers an opportunity to maximize policy influence.

2. National Capital Region – Suburbs of Delhi like Gautum Budh Nagar (in Uttar Pradesh) and Gurugram (in Haryana). Will help explore ideas in urban and peri-urban communities surrounding a major metropolitan city like Delhi.

  1. Punjab (Hoshiarpur): Chance to deep dive into the ‘Granary of India’ and engage with farmers and other rural  communities.

  1. Himachal Pradesh (village near Palampur): Opportunity to gain social innovation exposure by understanding the challenges faced by rural hill communities living in the breathtaking Himalayas.

  1. Uttar Pradesh (Saharanpur): Develop into a social changemaker by engaging with marginalized and minority urban poor communities in the most populous state in India. An opportunity to understand the demographic dividends and challenges, and gain exposure to the most marginalized communities in India.
